Art has always played an important part in my life thanks to my grandmother who was an art teacher and artist. She shared her love of art by providing the most wonderful experiences for me. I feel blessed to able to share the same passion for art that my grandmother impressed on me with my students at school and also my own children, Molly Mac (7) and Warner (3).

When I am not in the classroom, I like to spend my time with my family on boat rides or at the beach where I can gather seashells, ideas and inspiration for my paintings. I have always been mesmerized by the reflections and constant movement of the water. Capturing coastal themes and scenes on my canvases is always a fun and exciting challenge. I enjoy painting commissions for private collectors along with displaying art work in the restaurant Parrott’s on 11th in downtown Morehead City and Beaufort Linen Co. in Beaufort. Over the past couple of years, I have also been collaborating with Jarrett Bay Home’s coastal inspired home furnishings collection by painting a variety of seaside subjects for Prestige Arts at the High Point Furniture Market.
