One of my best days as a teacher was when one student who told me at the beginning of the semester that he did not want to paint this semester -came to me and asked if he could use an extra board for a second painting. When I told him yes, he asked if he could have two extra boards. When I told him sure, he asked, “What about 20? 20 extra boards?”

 

This student went from not wanting to paint to creating a project above and beyond expectations and even went on to paint an additional portrait painting to send to an orphan in Haiti. It was so exciting for me to see this student grow in his passion for art and painting.
